Review of By Lauren Luke’s My Fierce Violets

I wrote a few days back that I had gone to Sephora and decided on treating myself to a Lauren Luke palette in “My Fierce Violets”. I have to say that overall I am very happy and pleased with my purchase because well, the color payoff is fabulous and the color matching is all done for you. This is a super easy, pick it up and go kind of makeup kit and you have all you need right in the palette, from eye primer to lipstick, and eyeliner to blush. It’s all included. I would have to say that acquiring all of these would be a good investment especially if you are someone who does not have a lot of time to apply their makeup either because of your schedule or because you don’t want to have to do a lot of thinking about which colors would be best suited with each other.

I’ve loved watching all of Lauren’s YouTube videos since I discovered her on Facebook last year. She is who inspired me to try to wear more daring makeup. I mean I’ve always loved color but I would never really be all that daring and put it on my face, let alone my eyes.

Quick Root Touch Up Without Hair Dye

Sometimes I just don’t really feel like dying my roots with a touch up kit because it’s too messy or too time consuming. I came across this product in CVS a couple of weeks ago and thought it was a nice and convenient way to keep my gray roots hidden while I am in between touch ups. Ideally I would like to dye my hair about every six weeks but with the amount of growth I get, that is hardly ever the case. When you have such light roots like gray or blonde because you might like dying your hair a darker color, this can be a major time drain and if you get it done professionally, well then that can end up being pretty costly. So I figured this would be a good time saver and money saver all in one and if I need to do run out real quick but don’t have the time to really fuss with my hair I can apply this, throw my hair up and be out the door and everything looks good.

Lane Bryant Lingerie Sephora Makeup and Home Decor

This was just a haul from a recent shopping trip I had at Sephora and Lane Bryant. I decided to also throw in some of the home decor stuff I have recently bought at Target and Pier One, two of my favorite stores for my home. I love that Lane Bryant has a separate Cacique boutique now for all of the BBW and Plus Size Lingerie that they have.

NAAFA Scholarship For Aspiring Plus Size Fashion Designers

Just a little while ago I had launched my twhirl account and was looking through my posts on twitter for the day. I saw a tweet about NAAFA giving away a $1000 scholarship for aspiring plus size fashion designers so there was no way that I could ignore that and not post about it. If you don’t know what NAAFA is, it stands for the National Association to Advance Fat Acceptance.  I think it is worthwhile to spread the news about something like this for my readers as it is directly related to what we talk about here.  So if you are considering a career path in fashion design and are going to be focusing on the plus size side of things, you may want to consider applying for their scholarship award. You can do so at the following site NAAFA Plus Size Fashion Scholarship.
