Recently I have been re-thinking my plus size wardrobe. Sometimes it can be a daunting task to put something together that looks very stylish for plus size women. I think the key is to find really great pieces that you can interchange and then update your accessories through the seasons. I would also say it’s a great idea to pick up 2-3 of the latest seasons fashions, such as a print blouse or the latest style pants. But we have got to have our basics. The kind of stuff that doesn’t go out of style.
Metallic tread runs through the ladylike lace of this corset-style top, criss-crossed empire waist, scoop neck and cap sleeves with delicate ruffle detail.
I would say that if you are going to give your wardrobe a serious makeover, start by cleaning out your closets and dresser drawers of any clothing that does not make you feel beautiful when you put it on. All of those ratty around the house clothes should go(ok except the stuff you clean house in lol). Shop in places where you know that you are getting quality for the price you are paying. For some people places like Fashion Bug might be your only immediate solution for plus size clothing near you, this is how it is for me. But I recommend not relying on this store. If I want any other type of clothing I have to buy online or travel about an hour in any direction to find the nearest Lane Bryant, Torrid, Avenue or department store.
Hey I know a lot of people who shop at Fashion Bug and there is nothing wrong with that but if you are going to spend the amount of money that you are like you would for something in there, wouldn’t you rather spend the same amount of money or less for a designer top, shoes and handbag and get them when they are on sale? Lane Bryant for years has always been a great mainstay when it comes to really good pieces of clothing for us bigger girls. Lately, they have become a little more fuddy duddy, seems like they are reverting to their old ways but personally I would love to see the trend that they set for about 10 years ago really start to come back. I for one cannot stand tie-dyed tees or tops with cheesy looking applique on them. They really cheapen what could be a very nice tee. Fat women need to move away from these types of tops and I guess it I am not surprised to see it a lot more in LB since it was bought out by the parent company of Fashion Bug several years ago. This is when their clothing started to change. But I was still able to find some great plus size tops from Lane Bryant for you to buy.
Surplice Tee Shirt
Hammered stud details along the surplice neckline add interest to this lovely tee. Empire waist gives this casual favorite a pretty silhouette.
Foil accents set off the geometric print of this trendy tiered Emma. Lace and sequin embellishments finish the shirred waist. Scoop neckline. Smooth back.
